Bayreuth Swings...

Instrument

Above all, the quality of a recording depends on the skills of the musicians involved. But the choice of the instruments plays a major role as well, even more so when it comes to chamber music. Pianist Juri Artamonov has long been an avid fan of Kawai instruments. A Kawai RX-6 was used for the “Moskauer Fenster” recording, with excellent results. For the “Bayreuth swings” recordings at Campus 44, Kawai provided a Concert Grand Piano EX.

This very large instrument has an impressive sound volume, and hence was an ideal choice for the very dynamic Wagner arrangements. The Juri Artamonov Trio worked under ideal conditions, and the excellent support by Mr. Potz and his team at Campus 44 made the whole recording process a real pleasure.
